In September of 2015, VLV Development Co-Founders Faustina Roman and Van Vincent flew to Europe to attend a 2-week summer school PhD program in Bologna, Italy, where they collaborated with fellow students from all over the world. Faustina and Van combined their diverse range of experiences and expertise to create innovative sustainable business models with technical solutions. Students created innovative solutions to the challenges that climate change poses for urban environments and worked on engaging stakeholders, pitching ideas, and actualizing creative solutions. VLV Development and VGI Energy have benefited tremendously from the superior educational experience provided by the Bologna PhD Summer School. VLV returned to the States ready to implement the Englewood Community Solar & Storage Clusters for Resilience, a project formulated while studying in Italy.
