Community Resilient Power: Dearborn Homes Solar PV

VLV Development installed 1100 kW-AC of solar, serving 660 households within 16 high-rise public housing buildings. The installation includes both rooftop and ground-mounted PV. The PV Solar installation was for the Bronzeville microgrid, a ComEd project that tests the concept of microgrid clusters, or a ‘grid of microgrids.’ And partnership of Exelon subsidiary Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and the Chicago Housing Authority.

VLV Development’s Faustina Roman and Van Vincent were selected to attend the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Houston conference in August of 2016.

There, Faustina and Van were trained by former Vice President Al Gore to give Climate Reality presentations. They also received tools to build public awareness about global climate challenges and solutions and develop initiatives to implement climate action on a broad scale.
